The same atmospheric soils that settle on your windows also collect on your upholstery fabrics. Frequent vacuuming will remove most of these soils. The remaining sticky soils (atmospheric & skin oils) can not be removed by vacuuming and necessitate cleaning.  The longer these types of soils remain on a fabric or leather the more permanent the staining or color loss damage. These types of soils also destroy individual fabric fibers and drastically remove the color from leather. Upholstery cleaning methods and procedures are determined by :

Kind of fabric: cotton,nylon,herculon,silk,wool,leather etc.

Age of the fabric: some fabrics will deteriorate over time without regular    maintenance vacuuming and cleaning. (wear)

Type of soiling: skin oils, atmospheric soiling etc.

Spotting conditions: types of spills (skin oils,food,drink,shoe polish,ink etc.)

Construction of the particular piece: all fabric, wood exposed frames,kick pleats,removable cushions,tufted buttons,padded wood arms etc.

OUR UPHOLSTERY CLEANING PROCEDURES:

1. Visual inspection of the individual piece.

2. Site preparation for cleaning

3. Prevacuum entire piece to remove dry soils etc.

4. Treat any spot or spill areas identified in the visual inspection.

5. Mist a soil releasing solution on all fabrics to be cleaned.

6. Extraction clean fabric with appropriate cleaning solution  (a water based or a dry solvent solution). Either solution contains the necessary soil emulsifiers,brighteners and deodorizers to give your cleaned fabrics that like new smell, feel and appearance.

7. Pillows and cushions as appropriate are left in a drying position as necessary to complete the drying process durations(1-3hrs.)

      A fabric protector can be applied to your cleaned fabric at this time, if you so choose. Depending on the piece and its use a fabric protector can extend the life of the fabric and forgive some everyday spills.
